3 Simple Questions That Will Boost Your Belonging and Purpose

It's a common struggle, and the first step might be to shift your mindset away from the future and the predicting how you quest to fit in will play out. Instead, let's focus on the present and find traces in past. Let's explore some areas of your life that could guide you towards that feeling of connection. Fun tip the below reflective activity can serve as a dual process in also helping you find and define your purpose too This is something many of my clients initially struggle with when they first come to me for support. Finding our belonging and our purpose are closely interwined.

Now is good time to pull out your phone or pen and journal. Take some time to really dig in with the below questions. TIP: You may even like perusing your photo gallaries or saved social media posts for clues.

Your Belonging Path - Reflection

1. Where do you lose track of time?

Think about the activities that make time fly by. Whether it's a hobby, a passion project, or a simple moment of joy. Losing track of time in these pursuits can be a clue to where you might find your sense of belonging. What do you daydream about?

2. Where does your heart sing the most?

Pay attention to the moments that fill your heart with joy and fulfillment. Identify the activities or spaces where you feel most alive, connected, and authentic. Walking through your own personal space may stimulate some ideas. What do you hang on your wall? Are you a collector of certain things? What sits on your bedside table?

3. Embracing endless possibilities

Consider the spaces and activities where you feel an endless sense of possibilities. It could be a particular environment or community that sparks your creativity and allows you to dream without limitations. If I was to get you talking, what topics would you find endless easy flow of conversation in? What could you talk about for hours on end?

Let Your Answers Be Your Guide

Once you've reflected on these questions, let your answers serve as a compass to find communities and individuals who share similar elements. Whether it's joining a club, attending events, or connecting with like-minded individuals online, these communities can become the foundation of your sense of belonging. I want to share some honourable mentions to my "Positivity Emablers", my small group of girlfriends who uniquely learned we all love crafting. So when we get together it is not uncommon to venture into a pen and ink store, or calligraphy workshops, plan craft days and What's App one another all things crafts and inspiration.

But remember, it's not just about finding these connections; it's about incorporating these activities into your daily life, even in small ways, and even on your own. As much as I love my "Positivity Enablers" our schedules do not allow up to meet up as much as our hearts would love. So there is an importnace for me to honour my craftiness even in solo moments, just like you. Create those experiences, be present in these mements without having to connect them to other aspects of your life or future goals. Allow these experiences to fill you up spiritually and emotionally.

Embracing the Journey

Avoid the need to validate or legitimize the time spent on these activities. Instead, focus on being completely present and letting the sense of connectedness support all areas of your life.
